Born and raised in New York and New Jersey, Yasmine developed a passion for the law through years of advocacy work on human rights and international justice issues. She graduated with Distinction in her Major from Yale University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in History and Modern Middle East Studies, along with a Certificate of Advanced Language Study in Arabic.

As a member of the Yale Undergraduate Legal Aid Association, Yasmine trained in asylum casework with the Connecticut Bar Foundation’s CT Afghan Asylum Project, preparing applications and declarations for Afghan evacuees. She also conducted legal and policy research with the Lowenstein International Human Rights Project at Yale Law School.

Before joining Balestriere, Yasmine worked with UN Women’s Civil Society and Youth Division, where she led the editorial team for the UN Women Youth Newsletter and helped organize the Youth Forum at the 68th Commission on the Status of Women. She then joined the Syrian Negotiation Commission, engaging UN Member States and international organizations to advocate for diplomatic action on behalf of the Syrian people.

As a Legal Analyst at Balestriere, Yasmine contributes to research and writing in civil litigation across state, federal, and appellate courts. She aspires to attend law school and build a career in international human rights law.
